In the previous elections, the electoral alliance Uus Vald won 14 seats in the Peipsiääre municipal council, and the electoral alliance Peipsiääre Ühinenud Kogukonnad won 7 seats. This time, these alliances are not participating, but some of their members have joined the new alliance Meie Peipsiääre. This alliance is led by municipal mayor Piibe Koemets.
Piibe Koemets says that the time is right to create a new alliance. According to her, the main topics are education and the living conditions of young people. Her wish is for Peipsiääre to be a developing and modern place. She wants young people to stay here to live.
The current deputy mayor Peeter Kiuru says that another new electoral alliance is in the making. He does not provide further details. The representative of the Centre Party, Aleksandr Širokov, says that it will be decided whether to run separately or together with others. In his opinion, the management of the municipality should be changed and waste of money should be stopped.
EKRE states that there are problems in the municipality that need to be solved. They wish for a gymnasium to return here. Isamaa also confirms its candidacy with its list.
Isamaa candidate Väino Kivirüüt says that things are going well in the municipality, but there are still questions. He wants more emphasis to be placed on inner satisfaction, not on appearances.
