Urmo Kübar was the head of Praxis for five years. In May 2023, he started working in the president's office. He provides advice on topics related to civil society. He will leave his position in September when President Alar Karis steps down.

Kübar previously worked as an advisor to the president. Between 2016 and 2021, he was an advisor to President Kersti Kaljulaid. Now, his main topics are discussion culture and interest-based education.

Kübar will work in the president's office for only five months. He said that he has a good job. He does not know what his future holds. He said that President Karis does not yet want to retire.

Kübar studied journalism at the University of Tartu. He also worked at Eesti Päevaleht. He has been involved in civil society. Between 2002 and 2007, he was a member of the Pro Patria and Res Publica Union.
