Open Farm Days are being held for the 12th time. This weekend you can visit over 300 farms and agricultural enterprises. Some farms are closed to prevent visitors from bringing diseases.
In Rae parish, there is Soodevahe farm. They raise cattle and engage in beekeeping. Owner Jaanus Tõnisson says they have a small herd but a lot of land. Beekeeping is their hobby. Visitors can observe bees, the greenhouse, and walk around the ponds. The café serves homemade food prepared by the family.
Rae parish also has Hindreku farm. There are beautiful flowers and chickens. Bees live in special houses. Owner Marju Lutt says they do everything themselves. Bees also help in therapy. In the bee therapy house, you can relax and listen to the sound of bees.
Some farms are not participating in Open Farm Days this year. For example, Nopri farm is closed. Owner Tiit Niilo says they are afraid of diseases. Visitors go to many farms and could bring diseases. Nopri farm is open every day, but visitors must come from a clean environment.
