National Defense Report Criticizes Former Defense Commanders

Riigikogu riigikaitsekomisjon tegi raporti. Raportis kritiseeritakse kahte endist kaitseväe juhatajat.
Raporti juhtis Meelis Kiili (Reformierakond). Töörühmas olid ka teised erakondade liikmed. Nad uurisid, kuidas Eesti on valmis ohtude vastu.
Raportis öeldakse, et on segaduses. Olulised ülesanded on võetud kaitseväe juhatajalt ära. Näiteks personali ja .
Endised juhid Riho Terras ja Martin Herem andsid need ülesanded teistele asutustele. Raporti järgi on see ohtlik.
Tuulepargid on kergesti rünnatavad.
The National Defense Committee of the Riigikogu prepared a report. The report criticizes two former commanders of the defense forces.
The report was led by Meelis Kiili (Reform Party). The working group also included members from other parties. They investigated how Estonia is prepared to face threats.
The report states that the management of the defense forces is in disarray. Important tasks have been taken away from the commander of the defense forces. For example, the management of personnel and combat service support.
The former commanders Riho Terras and Martin Herem assigned these tasks to other institutions. According to the report, this is dangerous. During wartime, the defense forces may not function well without them.
The report states that if a war had started during their time, it would have gone badly. The commanders cannot say that other institutions are to blame.
Delfi wrote about this, but the former commanders did not provide a comment. ERR is trying to get their opinion.
The report also discusses other problems. For example, energy security and climate neutrality may not align. Wind farms are easily targeted.
