On December 3, Mihkel Juhkami (Isamaa) was elected Chairman of the Rakvere City Council. He received 15 votes. His opponent Anti Poolamets (EKRE) received 4 votes. Mihkel Juhkami has been the chairman of the council from 1996-2013 and since 2017.
The Rakvere City Council was formed by Isamaa, which received 11 seats, and the Social Democratic Party, which received 2 seats. In opposition are EKRE (4), Parempoolsed (2), Reformierakond (1), and Keskerakond (1).
