Reformierakond and Isamaa held discussions. They agreed that Urmas Klaas will remain as mayor, while Isamaa will take on the role of council leader.
Isamaa stated that stepping away from the mayoral position is difficult. However, they aim to fulfill the voters' wishes. Isamaa believes they collaborate effectively with Reformierakond and are confident they can achieve shared goals together.
Urmas Klaas mentioned that the people of Tartu sent a clear message by preferring him as mayor. Reformierakond and Isamaa hold an equal number of seats, but Reformierakond’s candidate received the most votes.
Isamaa seeks partners to support Tartu University and clinics, as well as to improve the maintenance of green areas. Reformierakond discussed plans to build the Siuru cultural center and create a better living environment.
Both parties aim to enhance the city. They are discussing a comprehensive plan to address everyone’s needs.
Participants in the negotiations included Urmas Klaas, Mihkel Lees, and Martin Bek from Reformierakond, and Kaspar Kokk, Tõnis Lukas, and Joel Luhamets from Isamaa. Each party holds 15 seats.
