Eesti 200 chairman Kristina Kallas spoke to ERR. She said her party supports Ülle Madis for president.
Kallas said: "We have talked about this a lot. I myself have not spoken directly with Ülle Madis. But we have discussed her with other parties. Our friends have also talked with her. We support her as president. She is currently a very good choice for Estonia."
Kallas believed that Madis has many supporters among politicians. She may get enough votes to be elected president.
Kallas said: "I think factionless MPs will also support her."
Kallas added that first, it must be confirmed whether Madis herself wants to become president. "This is the most important thing," said Kallas.
On Wednesday, the Social Democrats proposed Madis as president to other parties. Their leader Kiik said: "We have talked with other parties. Madis may have enough support to be elected in the Riigikogu. But it depends on her herself."
Kiik said the Social Democrats have talked with almost all parties. Only with EKRE have they not spoken, as EKRE supports Mart Helme. They have also talked with many factionless MPs.
