Filming for "On the Ümera River" began in Ida-Viru County. The film crew found a very beautiful location.
During rehearsals, they filmed a scene where Vello and Kämbi fought. This scene shows how the village elder and the robber met.
The film crew chose this location because it depicts life in the 13th century. "Ida-Viru County is very beautiful, and we found the perfect spot," said director Mikk Mägi.
The crew hopes RMK will use this location for their hiking trail. The Aidu hiking trail is nearby.
"This place would be ideal for a campfire site and sleeping spot for hikers," said Ursel Tilk, who plays Vello.
RMK is discussing whether and how to use this location. They want the location to be safe.
"We have looked at the film crew's facilities and are ready for dialogue," said RMK director Heinar Juuse.
RMK has previously used film locations on hiking trails. For example, the filming location for "Truth and Justice" in Võrumaa.
