Tallinn city government chose Aivar Toompere as mupo boss. He starts on Wednesday.
Toompere was mupo boss from 2016 to 2024. Then he left. Before, he worked in police and ministry. He also studied in Tartu University.
Tiit Terik said Toompere has much experience. He knows how to make mupo better. Terik said mupo work affects city people.
Toompere was chosen in a competition with 29 candidates. He said he wants to help the city. He wants mupo to be professional and trusted.
Toompere said he needed rest when he left in 2024. He rested and got healthier. Now he feels good and is ready to work.
Toompere talked about important mupo topics. He mentioned bad parkers and protecting people. He said parking rule breakers are dangerous. Protecting people is important.
Toompere said mupo must help people. Officers must help and sometimes punish.
The old mupo boss Elari Kasemets left in March. He did not say why. He said it was a hard decision.
