The Tallinn City Government has appointed new district mayors. Ahti Kallikorm will lead Kesklinn and Ivan Lavrentjev will lead Pirita. Both also received approval from the district councils.
Ahti Kallikorm studied medicine at the University of Tartu. He has worked as a doctor and lecturer. He has also worked at the Ministry of Social Affairs and as a hospital manager. Now he wants to help maintain balance in Kesklinn and make future plans.
Kallikorm says: "Changes start from the city center. It is the heart of the city. I want it to be a good place to live and visit. I want people to collaborate."
Ivan Lavrentjev has worked in various positions. He has studied political science and history. He wants to help the residents of Pirita and listen to their opinions.
Lavrentjev says: "I will do everything to be a good leader. My first goal is to prepare for winter. Tallinn will focus more on snow removal."
Both district mayors will work until the end of the city government's term.
