The goal of the Eesti.ai program is to teach people how to use artificial intelligence. This aims to help the Estonian economy.
In 2026–2027, 100,000 working-age people are expected to participate in Eesti.ai workshops or training sessions. The tender is divided into four parts: contact learning, web training, and large events.
The training program consists of two 4-hour workshops. Larger public events will also be organized. The training is intended for working people who are at least 18 years old.
The learning content will be adapted to different work fields. The training must be practical so that people can use artificial intelligence in their work.
At least 75% of the workshops will be conducted as contact learning. Training will be organized in all Estonian counties. Training organizers must also ensure the recruitment and registration of participants.
65% of the training is intended for those who already use artificial intelligence. 30% is for beginners and 5% for more experienced users.
The program is part of the "The Most AI-Smart Nation" initiative. Its goal is to increase the use of artificial intelligence at work and in the public sector.
Prior to this, a 3-month pilot phase was conducted. This tested different training methods. The pilot took place from April to June.
The government launched the Eesti.ai program in January. The program supports the use of artificial intelligence in health, education, and other fields.
Prime Minister Kristen Michal said the program should help the Estonian economy grow by 25% in 5 years. Eesti.ai leader Kirke Maar said that 2026 is just the beginning and the impact is hard to estimate.
In June, the program received additional funding of 11 million euros. Of this, 5.2 million euros will go to implementing the "The Most AI-Smart Nation" program.
