Next week, the Riigikogu will discuss a new law.
The law changes the term of the Prosecutor General. The term will be seven years.
The term for other prosecutors is five years.
The law allows paying prosecutors in Ida-Virumaa more money. This will help find better employees.
The law also changes the appeal of court decisions. The prosecution must now consider more carefully whether to appeal.
Prosecutor General Astrid Asi says the changes are good. They give the prosecution more opportunities.
Some people think the term should be longer. For example, President Alar Karis says seven years is good.
