Major Roadworks to Begin in Tallinn This Autumn
Sel aastal algavad suuremad teetööd Tallinnas sügisel. Paljud tänavad on suletud või remonditakse.
This year, major roadworks will begin in Tallinn in the autumn. Many streets are closed or under repair.
In recent years, spring-summer roadworks have disrupted traffic in Tallinn city center. This year, major works will begin in the autumn instead.
The first important street in the city center was closed in March. Odra Street was closed due to the repair of Lastekodu Street. This street will remain closed until mid-June. Additionally, Masina Street was closed.
After Odra Street is reopened, the repair of Lastekodu Street will continue. It will end in November. Currently, the Kadaka Avenue viaduct is also being repaired. It will be opened to traffic at the end of June. The viaduct construction will be completed next year.
The repair of Peterburi Road will begin before autumn. This repair has been awaited for years. The first stage will begin in August and last a year. It will cover the city center section of Peterburi Road up to Väike-Paala Street.
Another major repair will begin in the city center in autumn. Lauteri Street, which connects Liivalaia Street and Rävala Avenue, will be repaired. The works will last until June next year.
Away from the city center, Värvi-Mustjõe Street is being repaired. These works will last until September. In Pirita, Bornhöhe Street is being repaired. These works will begin in May and last until January next year.
In October, the construction of pedestrian tunnels at the Endla Street railway crossing will begin. These works will last until September next year. At the end of summer, Putukaväil will be opened.
Deputy Mayor Pärtel-Peeter Pere said that smaller works will also be added. The city's construction sites will also include Tallinn Vee and Utilitas pipeline works. A map is currently being created showing all major construction works. In spring, information about road repair works will be published on a special web page.
