Tallinn announced plans for changes to the bus network in March. After meetings with residents of the districts, some changes were made to the plans. The changes will take effect in August.
Based on feedback, line 13 will continue to operate as before, but with fewer buses. Lines 20 and 23 will also remain the same.
The residents of Kristiine district were in favor of changing line 28, but ultimately it was decided not to change it. Line 28 will remain the same.
Lines 1 and 14 will be merged. This means a new direct connection between Vana-Pääsküla and Viimsi.
Line 18 will start operating like the former line 18A. It will run between Urda and Viru Keskus, stopping at all stops.
Line 19 (formerly 20A) will now run from Laagri via Kadaka puiestee to Mäepealse street. It will then go from Akadeemia tee via E. Vilde tee to Lepistiku stop, Tammsaare tee, via Tondi street, Pärnu mnt, and Liivalaia street. The final stop will be D-Terminal.
This will provide better connections to workplaces on Liivalaia street and to the port. The city center will have better connections in the direction of Mäepealse and Laagri.
Lines 21 and 21B will be merged. The new line 21 will run from Kakumäe to Viru Keskus via Vana-Rannamõisa tee.
Line 24 will start running directly from Akadeemia tee to Kadaka stop. Since the Mäepealse and Rehe area would be left without connections, a new line 24A will be created. Line 24 will start operating with longer buses (articulated buses).
Lines 41 and 41B will be merged.
The plan was to merge lines 48 and 65, but based on feedback, line 48 stops will be retained. The new line will be 65.
Line 29 will be replaced by line 31A, which will be extended to Iru nursing home. Lines 31 and 31A will return to Laagna tee.
At the request of Lahekalda residents, line 44 will be extended to the Lahekalda district. A new bus stop will be added there.
More details about all the changes can be found on Tallinn's website.
