This Year's School of the Year is Kindluse School
Sel aastal sai Eesti aasta kooliks Kindluse kool Harjumaal Järvekülas. Haridusminister Kristina Kallas andis aasta koolile karika üle ETV hommikusaates „Terevisioon“.
This year, Kindluse School in Järveküla, Harju County, was named the School of the Year in Estonia. Education Minister Kristina Kallas presented the trophy to the School of the Year during the ETV morning show "Terevisioon".
Kindluse School is a basic school. It opened its doors on September 1, 2020. In the final round of the competition were also Kuressaare Nooruse School and Tallinn French Lyceum.
Kristina Kallas said that Kindluse School is a good example. There, learning is exciting and practical. For example, detective games are used. Through these, children learn arithmetic, writing, reading, and natural science. Learning takes place collaboratively and everywhere.
Reelika Turi, the director of Kindluse School, said that the victory is very happy news for the entire school. It shows that they are doing the right thing. Kindluse School is still a young school. The school has been operating for six academic years. Turi said that the title of School of the Year is a great recognition. At Kindluse School, it is important that the learner has an interesting school environment.
In the competition, Tallinn French Lyceum took second place. Kuressaare Nooruse School took third place. A total of 20,902 votes were cast in the competition.
In previous years, the School of the Year has been awarded to Jõhvi Gymnasium, Metsküla Primary School, Läänemaa Joint Gymnasium, Uulu Basic School, Võru Gymnasium, Viljandi Gymnasium, and Tallinn 32nd Secondary School.
