Otseülekanne kongressilt:
Helme was voted for by 373 party members. Helme named Mart Helme, Siim Pohlak, and Arvo Aller as EKRE deputy chairmen.
Additionally, Rain Epler, Helle-Moonika Helme, Kert Kingo, Anti Poolamets, Evelin Poolamets, Valmar Veste, Mati Kuklane, Mart Kallas, Elar Niglas, Kristjan Moora, and Aat Purje were elected to the party's board.
The congress will also confirm EKRE's presidential candidate, adopt a political statement, and hold programmatic presentations. EKRE has previously announced that their presidential candidate will be MP and party deputy chairman Mart Helme.
Council members will also be regularly elected. The EKRE congress issued a statement saying that today's Estonian political system, as well as state and private institutions, have retreated from the constitutional ideal of protecting a nation-state.
"In Estonia's public debate, the Estonian issue is not central—rather, it is something to be ashamed of. Instead, we see other matters being prioritized," the statement noted.
"The most important thing is to take care of our people's well-being. The most important thing is to ensure the safety of Estonian people. The most important thing is to guarantee the survival of the Estonian nation through the ages. The most important thing is the forceful re-establishment of Estonia's national sovereignty. As a small country and nation, we cannot afford to worry about all the world's problems; we cannot afford to care for all the world's sufferers. Let's take care of our own people!" the statement added.
