erakorralised valimised võivad olla hea mõte

peaminister Kristen Michal kutsus valitsusliitu Isamaad
Läänemets rääkis ka sellest, miks sotsiaaldemokraadid valitsusest välja visati. Ta ütles: “Michal ütles, et
nad saavad nüüd parempoolset poliitikat teha
Läänemets ütles, et Michal oskab hästi inimeste suhtes olla, kuid

Lauri Läänemets said that being in opposition is not a matter of life and death for the Social Democrats. He believes that soon the Social Democrats will be needed to form a new government. He said: “We know that our opportunity will come soon. At the latest in two years, one or another party will need the Social Democrats as a partner. I think this could happen even sooner, if in 2026 Eesti 200 makes its big change.”

Läänemets also said that early elections could be a good idea. He asked: “Can the current government provide stability for Estonia and solve major problems? This is a topic worth considering.”

Läänemets said he was not surprised when Prime Minister Kristen Michal invited Isamaa to join the government coalition. He said: “I think this was Michal’s first choice. We spoke with him in the fall, and I said that if your ratings don’t improve, you will look for Isamaa.”

Läänemets also talked about why the Social Democrats were expelled from the government. He said: “Michal said they can now pursue right-wing policies. For us, this is recognition. We did not allow certain things to be done: for example, we did not allow pensions to be reduced or higher education to be made fee-based. We also did not allow private money to be introduced into healthcare. These are things that the new government will likely start doing.”

Läänemets said that Michal is good at dealing with people, but agreed-upon things often do not get done. He said: “We agree on things, but they never get done. He knows how to postpone things somehow.”
