The strong storm began on Saturday. By Sunday morning, the storm has weakened. However, wind and rain remain strong.
The storm warning does not apply to Ida-Viru, Lääne-Viru, Järva, Jõgeva or Tartu counties. Heavy rain continues in Estonia on Sunday morning. Over a 24-hour period, 50–90 millimeters of rain may fall.
In southern Estonia, strong southwest and west winds are blowing. On the islands and coast, northwest and north winds are even stronger. Wind speeds may reach up to 25 meters per second.
On Saturday evening, over 3,000 houses were without power in Estonia. By Sunday morning, nearly 2,000 houses still lacked electricity. The Rescue Board received many calls due to fallen trees.
Water usage should be minimized to avoid overloading the sewer system. Rainwater should not be directed into the sewage system, as this may cause flooding.
Do not enter a basement if there is water and risk of electric shock. Avoid flooded areas and open wells.
Ferries will resume service. From Rohuküla harbor starting at 8:30 and from Heltermaa harbor at 10:00. There are currently no changes on the Virtsu-Kuivastu route.
The storm has also damaged Latvia and Lithuania. In Lithuania, one person died under a falling tree. The storm has also caused damage in Latvia.
