Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal traveled to Kyiv. There, he led a major meeting together with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The meeting was attended by leaders of the Nordic and Baltic countries (NB8) and Ukraine.
Michal noted that this year is special. Estonia's independence is 35 years old. Ukraine's independence is also the same age. He said that both countries have fought for freedom. Now Ukraine is also fighting for Europe.
The Nordic and Baltic countries have always supported Ukraine. They have been helping since the beginning of the Russian war. Michal said that Ukraine needs more help. It needs more weapons and protection.
The Prime Minister also spoke about sanctions. He said that pressure on Russia must be increased. Sanctions must be strengthened. This will help Ukraine.
Michal also met with the Prime Minister of Ukraine. They discussed how the countries could cooperate more. Next year, a major meeting will be held in Tallinn to assist Ukraine.
