This summer, there have been very many mushrooms in Southern Estonia. There was a lot of rain. Early summer was dry. Then the mushrooms grew later. This time, mushrooms were already growing in June. Late summer mushrooms also appeared.
Mycologist Leho Tedersoo said that this has been a good year for mushrooms. If the nights are not too cold and there is still moisture in the forest, autumn mushrooms will also grow.
Mushroom expert Urmas Roht said that there are many mushrooms in the pine forests of Põlvamaa. Boletus mushrooms are abundant. In addition, there are also chanterelles and other mushrooms. Saffron milk caps have also appeared. The forest has many different types of mushrooms.
