Erkki Keldo is Estonia's Minister of Economic Affairs and Industry. He says that the opposition's claims about his ministerial position change are false.
In an interview given to ERR, Keldo said that he knows nothing about a change in his ministerial position. He said: "It seems to me that everyone else knows more about what will happen to me. The decision-makers have not discussed this with me."
He also said that the chairman of the Social Democratic Party, Lauri Läänemets, is spreading falsehoods. Keldo said: "The opposition wants to sow confusion and show the government's weakness."
Keldo also answered the question of whether the position of energy and environment minister would be better. He said: "They cannot be compared like that. Both are important."
Reform Party minister Andres Sutt announced this Wednesday that he will not run in the next parliamentary elections. He will also step down from his ministerial position.
The chancellor of the Ministry of Climate, Marten Kokk, shared a photo on social media. The photo shows outgoing minister Sutt and Aveliina Helm. The photo also includes the ministry staff's prediction of who could become the next minister.
The prediction includes names such as Kristi Klaas, Aveliina Helm, Hanah Lahe, Yoko Alender, Maris Lauri, Anne Sulling, and Kadri Simson.
