Heidi Jõks and the ministry have reached an agreement. Jõks will receive 23,000 euros. Her tenure as museum director ends on October 1, instead of the previously agreed November 30.
Egle Hecht is now leading the museum as interim director. Hecht currently serves as deputy director and handles educational and exhibition activities.
The ministry confirmed that Jõks received compensation including salary, holiday pay, and bonuses, totaling 22,825 euros.
A new permanent director, Riina Roosipuu, will take over later after winning a competitive selection process.
Jõks emphasized that the dispute wasn't personal - she wanted an experienced director for the museum. She expressed satisfaction with Hecht's interim appointment starting October 2 and praised her professional work.
Jõks wished Hecht and the team success in their important work.
The ministry noted the museum's growth and stressed the need for workplace stability, saying the agreement allows the team to focus on their mission.
Hecht called this an exciting period, with everyone working hard for the new museum. She thanked Jõks for her contributions and noted the strong foundation created for future development.
