The chairman of the Legal Affairs Committee, Madis Timpson, said that all interest groups are invited to the meeting.
During the meeting, the new draft will be discussed. According to this draft, a person must have the consent of another person to engage in sexual intercourse. If there is no consent, it is considered a crime.
The chairman of the Social Affairs Committee, Signe Riisalo, said that the draft follows the Istanbul Convention. This means that punishment will also be applied if the sexual intercourse occurs without consent.
Many important individuals have been invited to the meeting. For example, representatives from the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Digital Affairs, prosecutors, and other experts.
The Riigikogu completed the first reading of the draft last year on December 2nd.
