Tallinn now has trams that go to the airport. These trams come from Kopli and Tondi.
But these trams don't help all passengers. Along with passengers, Ülemiste employees also ride the trams. About 6,000 people travel by tram to Ülemiste every day.
The first trams reach the airport at 6 am. The last trams depart from the airport at 1:45 pm. This doesn't help those who have early morning flights.
Deputy Mayor Joel Jesse says the city wants to help more passengers. He says: "We need to think about passengers' wishes. First we'll try new lines. It takes time for people to start using new lines."
Jesse says nighttime is more complicated, as people come to the airport from all over Estonia. Many have large suitcases. Trams help those who live near the tram line or in hotels.
The city is also considering adding night buses to the airport. Tram schedules depend on passenger numbers.
Roadworks that began in summer continue. Some works have been delayed because old objects or pipes that shouldn't be there were found underground. Roads should improve by September.
The deputy mayor says major roadworks will end in summer. Some works, like the Hipodroomi intersection, will be completed next year. By the end of August, there should be more space for cars at Hipodroomi. Work on Lauteri Street will finish in August. Peterburi Road will be completed in November.
