The new rule starts in 2023. It helps conscripts. By 2025, the rule will be fully implemented.
Previously, young people from Ida-Viru County went to Jõhvi or Tapa. Now they will go elsewhere. This helps them learn Estonian.
Official Ranno Rokk said: "Now young people will go where they are needed." The location will be announced 30 days before service.
Rokk said the new rule is good. Young people will be able to use their skills. For example, in IT or logistics.
