Mariliis Gross is now the Undersecretary for Defense Policy at the Ministry of Defense. She previously worked at Estonia's NATO representation.
In her new role, Gross will lead policy planning, international cooperation, and the work of NATO and EU departments.
Gross has worked at the Ministry of Defense, the Government Office, and served as an advisor to the Commander of the Defense Forces. She has also participated in a military mission in Africa.
Gross says that Estonia's independent defense capability and cooperation with allies are very important. Due to Russia's war, international cooperation has become even more crucial.
Gross studied international security in France. She has also received awards from the Ministry of Defense and the Defense Forces.
The previous Undersecretary, Tuuli Duneton, will now work as a defense advisor in Paris.
