Jürgen Ligi said in the broadcast "Straight from the News House" that he does not plan to resign. He is confident in his position and wants to run again in the spring elections.
Ligi said that his chair is stable. He is not in conflict with people, but some things do not please him. For example, he does not tolerate undermining. He mentioned that he is not in conflict, but sometimes heated arguments arise.
Ligi did not agree with the journalist's claim that he is the government's problem child. He said he has become better and wiser. He is not a mouse that follows all orders. He serves the Estonian state.
In the spring elections, Ligi would rather run. He wants to help his team and protect good things in Estonia. He said he has the energy and knowledge.
The biggest point of tension is the upcoming state budget. Many want to make gifts with money. Ligi said he is ready to stand against it. He mentioned that political culture has deteriorated.
Ligi also explained the recent conflict. He had to fight for the budget balance. He said some want to do small things, but he has to stand firm on principle.
Ligi is not sure if replacing the prime minister would be a good idea. He thinks the government should last four years. Changes cost taxpayers a lot.
