Pärnu beach house is undergoing reconstruction and expansion. Transcom, the building's owner, wants to demolish the current sales pavilions and build a spa hotel there.
25 projects were submitted to the architecture competition. Kamp Arhitektide's project 'Alt Pernau' won the competition. Jan Skolimowski, Anton Andres, and Kaspar Kruuse worked on this project.
Skolimowski said they want to preserve the building's originality. The new part should fit well with the building and be very well thought out.
Pärnu city architect Siim Orav mentioned that there were many good projects in the competition. In his opinion, 'Alt Pernau' was very professional and commendable.
Kaspar Koka noted that the project is also well-executed from a business perspective. He hopes that construction will begin next spring or the spring after.
According to the plan, the existing building will house a restaurant, hotel reception, and rooms. The new area will feature pools and a spa.
The renovation and extension of the beach house may cost around 20 million euros in total.
