The Isamaa party announced the candidates for Tallinn districts on Friday. The candidates are Anna Levandi (Haabersti), Riina Solman (Kesklinn), Tarmo Kruusimäe (Kristiine), Jüri Ratas (Lasnamäe), Riho Terras (Mustamäe), Urmas Reinsalu (Nõmme), Kristjan Järvan (Pirita), Sven Sester (Põhja-Tallinn).
Urmas Reinsalu is running in Nõmme. His competitors there are Urmas Paet (Reform Party) and Karmo Kuri (SDE).
Isamaa's slogan is "Change begins in Tallinn!". Riina Solman said that recent events show that this slogan is correct. She said that change begins in Tallinn.
Urmas Reinsalu emphasized that managing Tallinn is very important. He said that Tallinn creates half of Estonia's economy. A third of Estonia's population lives in the capital.
Reinsalu said that Tallinn's economy must grow. This will also help the country's economy. He added that Tallinn must be a battleground for businesses and investments to grow.
Isamaa also announced its program. They want to increase the number of kindergarten places. They want to pay more for dental care for the elderly. They want to support shooting sports and voluntary national defense activities. They want to expand sports support. They want to improve ambulance work. They want to help all road users. They will not allow bullying of drivers. They want to leave the local property tax untaxed.
The local government elections are from October 13 to 19.
