One of the few one-cow farms is located in Vinski village in Setomaa. There, the cow Betty is one of the stars of the open farm days.
Terje Kanarbik-Pettai is Betty's owner. She took the cow four years ago. Terje said that living with a cow is a responsibility, but she is happy with the decision.
Betty is not the only animal on the Täpsulandi farm. In the barn is her calf, and in the yard are chickens, roosters, geese, ducks, cats, and dogs.
Visitors said they want children to see rural life and animals. They emphasized that this is real life and want children to see and touch the animals.
The diversity characterizes this year's open farm day. Visitors can see both large farms and hobby farms, art farms, and plant cultivation farms.
Compared to last year, thirty fewer farms opened their doors this year. The reasons are the threat of foot-and-mouth disease and the wet summer, which made preparations difficult.
Open farms can also be visited on Sunday.
