Jüri Raidla is a legal scholar and retired lawyer. He sees no reason to criticize the Estonian state. Raidla said that Estonia is a small country and our population may not grow. This means that the state's expenses are increasing. Raidla believes that state reform is necessary, but so far, reform proposals have been gathering dust on the shelf.
Raidla said that state reform is difficult to implement because it shakes up the comfort zone of politicians. He cited the example of 2019, when political parties signed a joint agreement. It was a step towards state reform. However, the reform did not take off. Raidla continues to fight for state reform.
Raidla also spoke about the presidential elections. He said that after the elections, many problems are forgotten. The same happens with budget cuts. It is easy to promise cuts, but difficult to implement them. Raidla believes that politicians should solve problems, not give up.
Raidla praised the current government. He said that the government has set a goal to reduce bureaucracy. Raidla supports the government's plans. He believes that bureaucracy should decrease, but it has not happened yet. Raidla hopes that in the future Estonia will become even stronger.
