Exams are taking place in schools. At the same time, students must decide how to celebrate the end of school. Should they organize a joint trip or a party? The options are varied and must suit everyone.
Last year, the choice of a trip caused a big debate at Saue school. In the end, it was decided to go to Malta for four days. The trip cost 400 euros. The money could be paid in five installments so everyone could participate. The students liked that, in addition to the class teacher, some parents also came along.
The trip was planned early. Class teacher Malle Liivi helped organize everything. Last year, the children wanted to go on a long-distance trip, but the parents were against it. This year, their wish was fulfilled.
In Tabasalu, choosing the trip was difficult. The students had different opinions about where to go. They couldn't reach an agreement. The children wanted to go abroad, but the trip would have been expensive. Additionally, the teacher couldn't take the children so far alone.
After long discussions, it was decided to go to Pärnu for two days. The adventure park and go-karting cost 230 euros. It was a good and cheap solution. Although not abroad, it was still exciting.
At Narva Estonian Basic School, it was finally decided to organize a beach picnic. During the exam period, they didn't want to arrange anything complicated. Although initially they wanted to rent a house and party there, the parents didn't agree. They didn't trust that the children could manage on their own.
The picnic was a simple and safe solution. The students came home afterward. The parents offered to arrange something, but the children wanted to do it themselves. In Narva's Russian schools, it is common to hold graduation evenings with parents, but Estonian schoolchildren prefer to be independent.
