The Consumer Protection and Technical Regulatory Authority (TTJA) is organizing a competition for the issuance of one radio license.
TTJA announced a competition. The competition provides an opportunity for a new radio program to go on air. The new radio license will be valid from May 19, 2031 to November 16.
This is the frequency of the former Nõmme radio. Last summer, there were no applicants for this frequency. But now there are more than one interested parties.
Helen Rohtla, head of the TTJA Information Society Department, said: "Nõmme radio did not apply for a new license last summer. Others also did not apply for it. But now several individuals are interested."
Therefore, TTJA decided to organize a competition. The competition is held in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture. The Minister of Culture has set a condition: the radio program must include music by Estonian authors.
