Võru city council voted to remove the mayor and deputy mayor from office.
Both were from the Social Democratic Party.
The new coalition now consists of Keskerakond, Isamaa, EKRE and Reform Party.
The Reform Party and Keskerakond said they wanted to remove the mayors.
The city council chairman said the mayor's leadership style was too harsh.
An EKRE representative said the Social Democrats did not listen to others.
13 council members voted against the mayor and deputy mayor.
One Social Democrat member also voted against them.
The mayor said the no-confidence vote was related to the elections.
He said the cooperation had been good.
The deputy mayor said the accusations against him should apply to the council chairman.
He said he had never seen such bad politics in Võru.
He had worked in the city for over 8 years.
The new leaders will be decided next week.
The Social Democrats received 38.8% of the votes in the 2025 elections.
They have 9 seats on the council.
Isamaa has 6 seats.
EKRE has 3 seats.
Keskerakond has 2 seats.
The Reform Party has 1 seat.
The new coalition includes all parties except the Social Democrats.
The mayor had been in office since 2023.
