Prime Minister Kristen Michal criticized conservative political forces at the Reform Party's general assembly on Sunday. He said they want to reverse Estonia's development and limit people's freedoms.
Michal said that conservatives talk about the people but don't trust them. They talk about freedom but want to ban those freedoms they don't like. They talk about Estonia but want to take Estonia away from Europe and the world.
He also spoke about specific individuals and groups who, in his opinion, want to change Estonia's politics. Michal mentioned Isamaa, the Center Party, and EKRE. He said these parties use various methods to achieve their goals.
Michal presented the Reform Party's principles for the 2027 elections. He emphasized openness, entrepreneurial freedom, and Estonia's security. He also spoke about the importance of education, healthcare, and social protection.
He called on party members to explain the Reform Party's vision to voters and listen to people's concerns. Michal also stressed the importance of using artificial intelligence (AI) in the country's development.
Michal again criticized the opposition. He said the opposition wants to turn elections into a referendum of anger. The Reform Party, however, wants elections to be about Estonia's future.
He believes Estonians can tell the difference. An Estonian can be critical but isn't foolish. An Estonian is demanding but doesn't want to dismantle their country.
Michal concluded his speech by saying the Reform Party gives a voice to a reasonable and future-believing Estonia. He wants to help create a smarter, wealthier, and safer Estonia.
