Ülle Madise said before the Riigikogu that the future is not dark. We build the future ourselves. She said we must be joyful and lighthearted.
Madise said that everyone in Estonia should be well. She talked about how people help each other here. For example, neighbors help pull cars out of the snow. At the same time, she said that people often do not show gratitude to others.
She said we need more trust. Doctors, journalists, police officers, teachers, and others do their jobs well. We must respect them. We must trust each other.
Madise said the world is uncertain and many fear war. But Estonia is strong. We must not be afraid or lose hope. She said the future is not bad. We can change it.
She said we must be foresighted and confident. She recommended laughing and being lighthearted. Culture is important. We must value our culture and the cultures of other peoples.
Madise said Estonia's future depends on children's education. All children must receive a good education. Estonian language and culture are important.
She said we must act so that families have a place to live and raise children. The birth of children should not bring financial difficulties. Estonia should be child- and family-friendly.
Madise said the president should announce what people want. We need more creativity and less bureaucracy.
She said all Estonian presidents have made the country better. She also acknowledged Sirje Karis's work.
Madise said if we trust each other and are good, anything is possible.
