Flags will be hoisted by 8 AM at the latest and lowered at sunset.
On February 2, 1920, representatives of Estonia and Soviet Russia signed the peace treaty in Tartu. This ended the Estonian War of Independence. Russia explicitly and permanently recognized Estonia's independence. The eastern border of Estonia was also determined.
To mark the anniversary of the Tartu Peace Treaty, commemorative events, speeches, and concerts will take place across Estonia.
In Tartu, representatives of Tartu gymnasiums will lay wreaths and candles in front of the Jaan Poska bas-relief in the morning. At 10:10 AM, a speech meeting will begin at the Estonian Literary Museum, featuring Tartu Mayor Urmas Klaas and Tamme Gymnasium graduate Elo Rahman.
At 11 AM, a ceremony will take place at the Kalevipoja monument, where Tartu Mayor Urmas Klaas and members of the Amicitia corps will speak. Cadet Sergeant Karl Henrik Tiko from the Estonian National Defense Academy will also speak.
At 11:30 AM, a speech meeting will begin at Vanemuise 35 square, organized by the Estonian Freedom Party – Farmers' Assembly.
At 4 PM, a themed evening titled "Tartu in the Second World War – When Peace Did Not Hold" will commence at the KGB Cells Museum.
In Tallinn, a commemorative ceremony will take place at the Jaan Poska statue in Kadriorg Park at noon. Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna and French Minister for European Affairs Benjamin Haddad will speak. At 6 PM, a café discussion evening on war and peace will begin at the Estonian War Museum.
In Narva, a commemorative ceremony will begin at the Garrison Cemetery at noon, with wreaths laid in honor of those who fell in the War of Independence.
In Rakvere, wreaths and candles will be laid at the foot of the War of Independence memorial at 10 AM, with a prayer read by Tauno Toompuu, pastor of the Rakvere Kolmainu congregation.
In Pärnu County, commemorative ceremonies will take place at the Alevi and Audru cemeteries.
In Läänemaa, a commemorative ceremony will be held at the Lääne-Nigula War of Independence memorial at 10:30 AM. At 6 PM, a moment of remembrance with a joint wreath-laying will begin in Haapsalu.
