The memorial is located by the sea. It is exposed to wind and storms. Therefore, it often requires maintenance.
Currently, paint repairs are being made on the quarter path and in the tunnel. Part of the heating cable along the path is also being replaced. Safety fences are installed only in areas where maintenance work is taking place.
RKAS director Tarmo Mändmets said that the work includes dismantling the reinforced concrete slab and installing a new heating cable. He asks people not to ignore the safety fences.
The memorial is being repaired by the company Visare Ehitus OÜ. The contract was signed on April 30. The work must be completed within three months.
The work costs nearly 60,000 euros. VAT is added to this. The work is paid for by Riigi Kinnisvara AS.
Last year during Christmas, the memorial was also partially closed due to wind damage.
