Tallinn wants to change Pärnu Maantee. The work will be done between Vabaduse Square and the viaduct.
New bike paths will be added to Pärnu Maantee. Sidewalks will be widened. Crossings will become clearer. Major changes will be made near Liivalaia and Vineeri streets. Smaller improvements will be made elsewhere.
Public transport will become faster. Buses and trams will get separate lanes. Both will stop at the same stations.
More greenery will be added to Pärnu Maantee. The historic boulevard will be restored. Rainwater drainage will be improved. Old pipes and intersections will be repaired. This will make the road safer.
Kristjan Järvan, deputy mayor, says: "We are renovating Pärnu Maantee. This will make the city more beautiful. Public transport and cyclists will get better roads."
A public meeting will be held on April 22 at 5:30 PM. It will take place at the Tallinn English College. People can share their opinions.
During the planning process, the project will be further refined. Good ideas will be implemented if possible.
