The concluded additional training assembly focused on checking the readiness of the support command's movement and transport service. Reservists also learned to perform wartime tasks of the unit.
During the additional training assembly, reservists actively engaged in professional tasks. For example, they received allied forces arriving for the exercise Siil 25. The allied forces arrived safely and are preparing for the start of the exercise.
The head of the movement and transport service, Major Toomas Pärnpuu, said that the main objectives of the additional training assembly were to achieve unit readiness and fulfill combat tasks. He also spoke about receiving allied units. In the first week, units were formed and refresher training was conducted. Subsequently, the fulfillment of combat tasks began, which included, for example, receiving ships, aircraft, and trains.
Major Pärnpuu added that the reception of trains was particularly noteworthy as it had not been practiced like this before. The situation was handled very well. The reservists gained a lot of new experience, and some of them worked with trains and aircraft for the first time. All tasks were completed successfully, and the result was satisfactory.
Reservist Captain Marek Bankiir said that this was his fifth training assembly. He noted that the Defense Forces have developed a lot over the past 20 years. For example, the infrastructure has changed significantly.
Okas 25-1 was the first additional training assembly this year. Its purpose was to check the functioning of the national defense command chain. It included government decisions and the readiness of reservists and members of the Defense League.
The Defense Forces regularly call up reservists for other exercises, such as Siil and Kevadtorm. Estonia informs NATO and neighboring countries about the exercises.
