The previous principal, Hendrik Agur, moved to work at the Ida-Virumaa Vocational Education Center. Temporarily, the gymnasium was led by Tatjana Ait, the principal of Jõhvi Gymnasium.
No new principal was found in the first round of the competition. Therefore, candidates were sought through targeted recruitment. The selection committee chose Aet Kruusimägi. The committee had six members. It included employees of the ministry, the board of trustees, students, and the principal of a state gymnasium.
Aet Kruusimägi has worked at Võsu School since 2017. She has been a school leader for five years. She has completed her master's degree at the University of Tartu.
According to Raivo Trummali, the head of the ministry, Kruusimägi has a strong desire to contribute to the school life of Kohtla-Järve. She has developed the Võsu School for the benefit of the community. She has a lot of experience and a clear vision for the future of the gymnasium.
Kruusimägi says that she wants to create a school where professionalism and care are important. She supports teachers so that they can help students.
