The government approved the proposals of the first package from the Council for Efficiency and Economic Growth, which mainly concern reducing workplace requirements, abolishing the alcohol registry, and simplifying home loan refinancing.
At the government’s economic cabinet meeting, it was decided that monthly ladder inspection reports will no longer be required. Employees working from home will not need to conduct a workplace risk analysis or internal controls. They also won’t need to keep records of personal protective equipment.
Prime Minister Kristen Michal said: "We can make life easier, and I am very pleased that we are doing this together with entrepreneurs." The economic cabinet is progressing well and will continue working during the summer to come up with new proposals.
Home loan refinancers no longer need to visit a notary, which could save hundreds of euros. It was also decided to discontinue the use of the alcohol registry. Regional Economy Minister Hendrik Johannes Terras said that the alcohol registry has served its purpose and is now redundant. Producers can now bring their products to market more quickly.
