Isamaa chairman Urmas Reinsalu said that he would see Karmen Joller's resignation as justified. He believes that Joller should leave her position. Reinsalu added that the Ministry of Social Affairs was already aware of the media questions long before the summer days were organized.
Reinsalu said that this example shows the government's irresponsibility. He added that the Health Insurance Fund's money is decreasing and organizing summer days at such a time is wrong. Reinsalu thinks that the head of the Health Insurance Fund, Rain Laane, should also resign.
The deputy chairman of the Social Democratic Party, Tanel Kiik, was also critical but did not demand Joller's resignation. Kiik said that organizing the summer days was a mistake, but he believes that Joller herself was not involved in it.
Kiik emphasized that the board of the Health Insurance Fund should decide whether the leaders should resign. He would not interfere in the board's work. Kiik believes that Joller may not be responsible for the organization of the summer days.
Newspapers reported that the Health Insurance Fund's summer days took place in Taagepera Castle and cost over 100,000 euros. The Center Party demands Joller's resignation.
Karmen Joller called a meeting of the Health Insurance Fund board to get explanations regarding the organization of the summer days. Prime Minister Kristen Michal advised the Health Insurance Fund leadership to step down.
