On Thursday morning, police were informed that a 41-year-old man had sent several threatening messages during the night. Police analyzed the messages and the man's background and found that the politician's life might be in danger. Therefore, the man was detained in Mõisaküla.
Hendrik Ebber, a police investigator, said that police take threats very seriously. The man's threats stemmed from a conflict between him and the municipality. The local government had filed a complaint about the man's residence because it did not meet requirements. This complaint prompted the man to make threats.
The prosecutor's office requested the man's arrest because his behavior was unpredictable. The court placed the man under custody for two months.
Prosecutor Andraš Tšitškan explained that the man's messages contained death threats along with a picture. These threats were credible. Police recommend reporting to authorities if anyone feels threatened.
