The city of Tartu is selling a property located at Gildi Street 8. The starting price for the auction is over three million euros.
The building is located at the corner of Rüütli and Gildi streets. It was built between 1838 and 1839. The property size is 1054 square meters. The main building area is 2239.5 square meters.
The starting price for the auction is 3,045,000 euros. The bidding ends on May 6th.
The building has housed a velvet factory, a girls' school, and the Estonian National Museum. Many organizations and societies have also operated there.
After World War II, the building was converted into a city polyclinic. Most recently, a polyclinic operated there.
The building has been empty since 2021. At that time, the Raatuse Health Center was opened.
At the end of 2023, the city held a public auction. The goal was to find a tenant for the building. The auction failed because there were no participants.
The building requires significant investments. Tenants are not willing to make them. Therefore, it is reasonable to sell the building.
