Education Minister Kristina Kallas said the goal is economic growth and increasing competitiveness. She stated the need to invest in education and artificial intelligence. Teacher salaries and vocational education are also crucial.
Finance Minister Jürgen Ligi said the economy is in good shape but cautioned against excessive deficits. He recommended all sectors reduce spending.
The government began the session with a moment of silence in memory of former Prime Minister Siim Kallas.
At the end of September, the government will approve the state budget and Health Insurance Fund plans. They will also decide on EU fund allocations. The Prime Minister will submit the state budget to the Riigikogu at the end of September.
