Ingrid Veidenberg served as the editor-in-chief of Kroonika for 18 years. She held the position from 1997 to 2007 and again from 2019 onwards.
In the meantime, she worked as the head of Postimees' weekend supplement Arter and launched Delfi Meedia's weekend publication LP. She was the editor-in-chief of LP for seven years.
Veidenberg says: "Now I want to take a breather and observe journalism from the sidelines. The digital and social media era is impacting the media, including the future of Kroonika."
She added on social media: "You ask what I will do? I'm going on vacation. Likely to South Estonia, Taagepera."
Delfi Meedia's editor-in-chief Urmo Soonvald said: "I'm sad about Veidenberg's departure, but I understand her."
Soonvald added: "34 years of working amidst events, scandals, glamour, wonders, and discoveries… It's exhausting. I admire Ingrid's ability to remain calm and rational."
Kroonika will celebrate its 30th anniversary on June 4 and announce the winners of Estonia's entertainment awards. On June 5, Veidenberg will step down as editor-in-chief. Kroonika's new editor-in-chief will be announced in June.
