The government cannot decide whether to fund the construction of a new hospital in Tallinn. The discussion has been postponed again. Marika Priske joins the board of SA Tallinn Hospital Development.
The government has repeatedly postponed the decision on funding the new hospital in Tallinn. The new hospital will be built in Lasnamäe. Deputy Mayor of Tallinn Karl Sander Kase says that the hospital plan has been approved, but there is no clarity on the funding.
Kase says that the discussion was supposed to take place in February, then in April, and now it is hoped to take place in May. The city has proposed that 60% of the funding should come from the state and 40% from the city. Kase mentions that the city has costs even before construction, such as design and planning.

Architects complain that the tender conditions do not sufficiently take into account expert recommendations. The president of the Estonian Association of Architects, Aet Ader, says that designing the building is complicated. For example, there are not enough entrances and the locations of the elevators are unclear. Ader suggested that improvements should be made.
The deadline for the design tender has been extended to May 29. The results of two expert evaluations have been added to the tender. Deputy Mayor Kase says that the expert results have been taken into account in the tender documents.
