Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur met with US Secretary of the Army Daniel P. Driscoll. Pevkur said that the US has not stopped mediating peace in Ukraine. However, achieving peace will still take several months.
Pevkur mentioned that US Secretary of the Army Driscoll believes in approaching peace. Ukraine and Russia must agree on peace themselves. The US will help bring them closer.
Pevkur asked how quickly peace could come. Driscoll responded that it won't happen within weeks. It will take months, but not too long.
The meeting also discussed other topics. For example, the situation in the Middle East, cooperation between Estonia and the US against drones. The agreement to establish a HIMARS missile system maintenance center in Estonia was also mentioned.
