The Political Party Financing Supervision Committee (ERJK) imposed a fine on the election coalition Plaan B. Plaan B participated in the autumn elections in Tartu and Narva. ERJK could not understand whether Plaan B used campaign funds correctly.
ERJK began investigating Plaan B in January. They wanted to know if Plaan B used the channels of the Tartu Savings and Loan Union (THLÜ) for advertising. THLÜ is now bankrupt. ERJK doubted whether Plaan B paid for the advertising.
ERJK requested explanations from Plaan B in the spring. However, Plaan B did not provide sufficient answers. No answers were received from Narva at all. ERJK decided to impose a €500 fine on Plaan B.
In June, Plaan B still did not provide explanations. ERJK imposed a €500 fine on both Tartu and Narva Plaan B. The proceedings have not ended. ERJK is now also requesting information from Ring FM and THLÜ.
THLÜ no longer operates because it is bankrupt. If Plaan B does not pay the fine, ERJK may impose a new fine – up to €15,000.
